A US tariff update!

So, I thought it would be a good idea to use OSHIROblog to announce items of import, such as the tariff issue, as I can go into greater detail than in social media posts.
What we know at the moment is that Royal Mail are creating a system in which all duties/tariffs will be paid upfront by myself (and other companies of course, if you order from other people, and why would you... ;-) with no extra work from yourselves. I've added a 10% tariff fee to the webshop for USA and Puerto Rico as at the moment, as far as I know, these are the only two locations effected.
The system from Royal Mail is a PDDP one, which basically means that all duties and tariffs will be paid upfront before posting and packages will be cleared for customs before entering the country, so there will be no risk in parcels being destroyed or returned (as would be the case if sent without duties being paid).
Orders from the states can still be placed now but I won't actually be posting them until the new system is in effect. As far as I know, that should be a week, maybe two but no longer than that. Any existing orders that were placed before the tariff rate was set up on the webshop will be tariff covered (I'll cover the cost of that). There will just be a slight delay in posting whilst the new Royal Mail system is put in place.
The slightly bad news is that the tariff has to be added to the order total, so that includes products and shipping. The good news is that I'm still offering free postage for orders over £150 and with the exchange rate as it is that's around $200. If you have friends that also want to order then do a joint one and split the costs (the chaps I game with do this quite often).
On the whole, the situation isn't as bad as a lot of us thought and with the Royal Mail system in place you, the customer, won't actually have to do anything apart from buy OSHIRO's lovely products :-)
As a final note, I would like to thank you for your continued custom and patience whilst this is being sorted.
cheers
James
