The Prussian Retreat: A Closer Look at Leggs Crossing
The Battle Unfolds The Prussian retreat continues apace, aided by the arrival of the second British battalion of the 31st. The small hamlet of Leggs Crossing stands as the last barrier before the Prussians can reach the coast and the waiting landing craft. With British regulars in hot pursuit and a contingent of volunteers and the Naval Brigade stationed at the crossing, the situation looks dire for the remaining Prussian forces. The remaining volunteer units and the Naval Br

The one and only VSF
I have had a love for Victorian Science Fiction since I was young and some of my favourite novels are by VSF writers; names such as H.G. Wells and Jules Verne spring to mind and with The War of the Worlds being perhaps my favourite novel of all time, it sort of makes sense that a VSF range makes an appearance in the catalogue. There has been debate in recent times regarding the difference between VSF and Steampunk and suffice to say, my opinion is that VSF wins every time as

Wars in the Stars...
My other gaming love is Star Wars. Having played the old West End Games D6 rpg for many, many years, read the (now called 'legends') novels and plenty of comics and also played the old Star Wars Miniature Battles wargame, it sort of made sense to make a sci-fi range that has a definite Star Wars feel to it. I'm certainly don't want to copy anything from the Star Wars universe but I have been heavily inspired with the vast majority of the range and hopefully this is apparent.

Victorian delights
I've had a fairly extensive Victorian range for a good while now and this post is to show some of them but also what is possible by mixing and matching coupled with scratch building and what sort of scenes can be made. Similar to the Highgate Miniatures line, the idea behind the ranges was to have a period accurate range of buildings and accessories that were suitable for gaming but don't retract from their historical appearance. London in the later Victorian period was crowd

A trip to Japan
Not a real trip I'm afraid but another promo post showcasing the various products and ideas from the extensive Japanese ranges I produce. I'm probably known best for the Japanese ranges I started with nearly 20 years ago when I first decided to venture into the wargaming terrain world. As with the other ranges, the 'additions' section is possibly the more important from my point of view, as it makes the terrain have a lived in feel and adds a level of realism to games being p

A fourth Dorking battle report; Cumwinton part the second
With the volunteers retreating into Cumwinton and the sound of marching feet in the distance I present the fourth game in our Dorking campaign. The volunteer units have moved further into Cumwinton on the Trickle and have finally been reinforced by units from the 31st foot and the Naval Brigade along with some much need steam tech in the form of a steam tank and another scout neff. Also some replacement artillery crews have been moved up. The Prussian have seemingly been rein
