Kickstarting the Kickstarter
As mentioned elsewhere, it's taken long enough but finally the 28mm Japanese religious Kickstarter is ready to launch. Below is the pre-launch link but I thought I'd take this opportunity to go a bit more in-depth as to the whys and wherefores for the project. The main reason behind it is to bring the religious buildings up to scratch and give them accessible interiors to match the village and yamashiro ranges. When I first started the OSHIRO Japanese ranges (way back in 2007

Even more Sharp Practice
Given the Portuguese tendency for failing you'd think they'd give up. But no, they've come back for more and have tried a final attempt to get the wayward Lady Fackham back. Spanish guerillas had mentioned to Portuguese high command that Lady Fakham was being transported from the convent to a secret location but that the convoy would be taking the main road to the coast... The French column was going past a small settlement that the Portuguese had decided to use as cover to s

A bit more Sharp Practice
Well, with the disastrous events of the last game I felt it was appropriate to try and recapture Lady Fakham (who I think is probably quite happy where she is but it's the principle of the thing!). The Portuguese forces had been reliably informed that Lady Fakham had been taken to a convent so they forced march to the location in the vein hope of rescuing her. The Portuguese started on the right above the bridge with the French entering opposite but they already had a unit of

A bit of Sharp Practice
We sometimes play Sharp Practice, as the chap who I game with most has a large French collection. I've got mainly Portuguese (gallery below) but I will be adding some Spanish to them soon enough along with some more Portuguese. Here's a small write up of a game we had yesterday (Friday 12th June) Didn't take many photos during as we were having far too much fun! The basic scenario was the Rescue of Lady Fakham. She was visiting a nearby church and forgot the time. Her escort

Crusades away!
lI have a very slow burn 1st Crusade project on the go and have amassed a fair few figures so far (couple of pictures in the gallery below) but haven't really had time to sort out some terrain for it. This project was the main reason behind the recent buildings range but also, I had the intention to do them to go with the Arabic shrine that was released a while ago. As always, there are plans to add to the range over time. As mentioned in previous tutorials, I generally have

From the Peninsular to the jungle
Several years ago we had a brief sojourn to the jungle and the 80's films involving drug cartels in South America. Our take was definitely tongue in cheek as the actual subject matter can be delicate. It has been mentioned to potentially get this going again and I thought it would be a good idea to do a few new builds for it using products from the catalogue. The first one is of a small house which would be part of a hacienda and it will use the medium cottage from the Penins

The Prussian Retreat: A Closer Look at Leggs Crossing
The Battle Unfolds The Prussian retreat continues apace, aided by the arrival of the second British battalion of the 31st. The small hamlet of Leggs Crossing stands as the last barrier before the Prussians can reach the coast and the waiting landing craft. With British regulars in hot pursuit and a contingent of volunteers and the Naval Brigade stationed at the crossing, the situation looks dire for the remaining Prussian forces. The remaining volunteer units and the Naval Br

The one and only VSF
I have had a love for Victorian Science Fiction since I was young and some of my favourite novels are by VSF writers; names such as H.G. Wells and Jules Verne spring to mind and with The War of the Worlds being perhaps my favourite novel of all time, it sort of makes sense that a VSF range makes an appearance in the catalogue. There has been debate in recent times regarding the difference between VSF and Steampunk and suffice to say, my opinion is that VSF wins every time as

Wars in the Stars...
My other gaming love is Star Wars. Having played the old West End Games D6 rpg for many, many years, read the (now called 'legends') novels and plenty of comics and also played the old Star Wars Miniature Battles wargame, it sort of made sense to make a sci-fi range that has a definite Star Wars feel to it. I'm certainly don't want to copy anything from the Star Wars universe but I have been heavily inspired with the vast majority of the range and hopefully this is apparent.
